NULU, the area of Louisville along east Market street is a hip, eclectic and rejuvenated area of downtown Louisville, however just fifteen years ago this part of Downtown was run down and all but abandoned. Turn back the clock one hundred years and downtown Louisville, especially along this area of Main and Market streets were the heartbeat of the community. With the rise of suburban living and shopping centers, most consumers moved away from downtown living and businesses followed, leaving behind many of the area’s historic buildings to fade with time.

Nestled in the heart of NULU are a number of unique specialty shops, bars and antique stores. Among these, whether you are looking for a unique gift for a friend or even yourself, SCOUT on Market is a perfect afternoon excursion for a modern and eclectic selection of furniture, personal accessories, books, artwork, jewelry and even some bourbon-centric one-of-a-kind gift ideas.

The first-time entering SCOUT, it is reminiscent of many of the diverse shops found in Chicago, New York City and other (so-called) cultured cities, except SCOUT reinforces Louisville's charm and character. The general theme throughout the store is life shouldn’t be taken too seriously, relax and take a moment to laugh at the world around you. Just stop and peruse the selection of books, cards and other oddities, you’ll definitely find yourself sharing a laugh as well.

There are plenty of things to do and places to see when you are Off the Kentucky Bourbon Trail but not all are directly related to bourbon. If you’re looking to find something unique or just enjoy the afternoon, stop in and visit SCOUT on Market.
